February hearts of the west blog hop

Welcome to the Hearts of the West team blog hop!

If this is your first time joining us, welcome, you will love it. It features Close to my hearts Consultants from all over Canada showing you their projects. The hearts of the west team was founded by Nancy Klein.
This months challenge is the Brushed paper pack (X7190b), brought to you by the new Annual Inspirations, hand picked from Nancy Klein.

If you came from Kerry's Blog then you're in the right place, this is a go around blog hop so you can start anywhere! Just in case, the full list will be at the bottom. So, as always, grab your coffee, tea, water, relax, and hop around the team with us.

Well this month I had very good intentions . . . but I ordered the wrong paper pack. oops ;)

Well as luck would have it I had previously ordered the Brushed Workshop on the Go!!!

(which of course I had to adjust to fit my pictures LOL! Those who know me, know I have problems following directions. especially in kits! I love to be creative and as my customers know I am a strong believer in artistic expression!) The workshops on the go are a great deal you get paper, embellishments, a exclusive stamp set and detailed instructions completewith cutting guides and full coloured pictures.

so now I have a beautiful layout of my baby girl! I also had enough paper left over to create another double page layout.

so without further ado . . .
Here is what I created :

I really like how this page turned out and I have to give my hubby, Mike, credit for the idea of using copies of the picture to create this fun effect.

This page is simple but I love the blocking effect, it makes the picture really pop!

I am loving the font on my Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge (Z3017), Nice and simple.

The metal Flowers that come in the Brushed Assortment package (Z3013) plus the Clear assorted sparkles (Z1752), add some Bling to complete my layout.

I hope you like what I created.

Happy New Year!! Great Tip - Works Great!!

Happy New Year!!
Another year is Here! I am going to try and blog more regularly, our monthy team blog hop has helped in this area so now its up to me to build on it. So here is my first real post of the year. (the Blog hop last week was scheduled so all the work as done in December)

A sister Close to my Heart consultant Terry Ann posted an awesome tip she found on Follow the Paper Trail.

It really caught my eye "No Plug Glue Topper for paper crafting!!"

How many times have we had to stop working on a project to unplug a bottle of glue so that we can use it?

First I have to say my 10 yr old son and husband thought I was totally nuts. Hubby said "umm why are we buying baby bottle nipples the Girl has never taken a bottle?"

I tried it and I LOVE!!! it works really well. I now have these no plug toppers on my Liquid Glass, a quick dry adhesive, and a 3-in-1 glue it works on ALL of them.

these 3 glues all have different thickness but as you can see it works for all of them.

I'm sure it won't be long before I have more of these wonderful toppers!

Thanks Terry Ann for sharing (you can check out her blog here)

Thanks for stopping by,
luv and Inky Hugs,
Heather
