This months challenge is using the Yuletide Carol paper pack, brought to you by the new Annual Inspirations, hand picked from Nancy Klein.

It is that time of year again and if you are a card maker you are well on your way making your Christmas Cards. This paper pack is full of beautiful Christmas paper using traditional colours. Hearts of the West October Blog Hop!

Hello Everyone!!

Welcome to the Hearts of the West team blog hop!

If this is your first time joining us you will love it. It features Close to my hearts Consultants from all over Canada showing you their projects. The hearts of the west was founded by Nancy Klein.

This months challenge is Scaredy Cat paper pack, brought to you by the new Annual Inspirations, hand picked from Nancy Klein.

If you came from  Julie Kerr's then you're in the right place, this is a go around blog hop so you can start anywhere! Just in case, the full list will be at the bottom. So, as always, grab your coffee, tea, water, relax, and hop around the team with us.

Here is my card for this month. I had fun creating this card! I just love these little guys!

To create this 5 x7 card I first stamped the words on the Sunset card base using Sunset ink. I used the scallop border punch on the Thistle cardstock. I coloured these cute little guys with my copics. I used the top strip from the paper (the "EEK", can I say that I love that CTMH does this now! don't want to waste paper and they add an easy little embellishment to pages and cards)

I also used:
  •  Frightfully Fun stamp set (B1453)
  •  Silver Shimmer tape (Z1799)
  •  black resin stars from the Scaredy Cat Assortment (Z3011)
  •  scallop border punch (Z1851)
  • Copic Markers

Your next stop is Kerry Hammel Thanks for joining us this month and come back next month to see what crafty projects we can bring to you!

Thank you for visiting and please feel free to leave a comment.

With Love and Inky Hugs,

Heather

Wow! Can Blogs collect dust? If so I have some major dusting to do . . .

Well what's new with me?

Since my last post:
  •  I lost over 100 pounds
  • Got Pregnant!
  • Had a beautiful Baby Girl in 2012
  • Went to DISNEYLAND
  • Rediscovered my scrapbook passion/ obsession/ collection!
  • Rediscovered Close to My Heart
and probably much much more but lets not dwell in the past.

Right now in my life I am struggling with a decision of whether or not to go back to work. I am loving being at home and just being Mom to my 2 wonderful children.(ages 16 months and almost 10yrs).

I am looking into other ways to contribute to our family income. Ideally i'd like to find something that I can do that uses some of the creative skills I have developed over the years. (Scrapbooking, Colouring with Copic Markers,Card making!)

So Bear with my as I work through what I want to do.

Well It has been a day full of ups and downs for me. I found the need to escape to a Happy place. I found my self sitting in my craft room colouring away. I made 4 cards today.

Here is one:

I love this House Mouse image - Jelly Bean Heist.
There is more embellishments than I usually use but I still like it! I has a clear acetate base so it looks like it is floating when open on display.

Items Used:
*Cardstock: X-Press Blending Card Stock; Basic Pink CS from Michaels

*Patterned Paper - Close to My Heart
*Images: House Mouse - Jelly Bean Heist
*Flowers; Spellbinders Heartfelt Creations - Posy patch Dies
*Ink: Tsukineko Memento - Tuxedo Black
*Embellishments: Pearls from Dollarama

I will try and add more later

Sunshine and Smiles

It has been an interesting couple of weeks at the Myers house! My son fractured a growth plate in his ankle and is in a cast. I am on a leave from school. So let's just say I have seen my fair share of doctor's waiting rooms this week! . . . anyway. . .

I had a pleasant surprise this week when I went to the mail box and found a stamp order that I completely forgot I ordered!!!! I got some great images from 'Lili of the Valley'. I have fallen in love with these stamps so be forewarned.

This is what I created today! hope you like it.

Here's what I used:
  • Images - Lili of the Valley
  • Patterned Paper - Heidi Grace Designs
  • Ribbon - May Arts
  • Cardstock from Michael's (butterfly wing collection)
  • Ink - Memento- tuxedo black; Brilliance- Orchid; Copics
  • Tools - Spellbinders nestabilities

With love and Inky hugs

Sending Help to Japan

Hi everyone,

I know that I have been thinking a lot about those effected by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. I can't even imagine what those families are going through. What devastation!

Close to My Heart would like to help the Japanese. When you purchase the Hope for Japan stamp set for only $5 all money goes to the Red Cross. Let's support the Japanese during this difficult time and help them rebuild their lives. To order please contact me.
