April Hearts of the West Blog Hop - Confetti Wishes

Welcome to the Hearts of the West team blog hop!

If this is your first time joining us you will love it. It features Close to my hearts Consultants from all over Canada showing you their projects. The hearts of the west team was founded by Nancy Klein.

This months challenge is Confetti Wishes paper pack, brought to you by the new Annual Inspirations, hand picked from Nancy Klein.

If you came from Chelsey's Blog then you're in the right place, this is a go around blog hop so you can start anywhere! Just in case, the full list will be at the bottom. So, as always, grab your coffee, tea, water, relax, and hop around the team with us.

I love CTMH's wonderful paper, it lends itself so well to so many themes. Confetti Wishes  is no exception, it is a birthday themed kit. . . or is it!! :) With its bright colours there are lots of fun possibilities.Well, as most of know I have been trying to finish scrapbooking our last trip to Disneyland,  so I decided to use the bright colours in this paper pack would make another great Disney layout.

I used Magic, one of CTMH's wonderful how to books, as a starting point or my layout.

Here is what I created: (Warning Lots of Photos!!)

I love the simplistic style of this layout, but it holds a few surprises. The little dolls are from a paper that I purchased in Disneyland and trimmed to create the borders on my layout.

The ribbon on this layout is a May Arts white ribbon that I coloured with my Shin Han markers to match.

* * *

These cuties I enlarged, hand traced and then coloured with my Shin Han markers.

This sunny guy, is a re-creation of the sun inside the ride.

This Photo is more than what it seems. . . it is a Tag mini album - to hold the many pictures my 9 year old took on the multiple times through the ride.

I hope that you like my project for this month.

Here are the products that I used to create my layout:
  • Magic book - 9040
  • Confetti Wishes paper pack - X7189B
  • Shin Han Markers - various colours (page 180 in the Annual Inspirations idea book)
  • May Arts - white ruffled ribbon (my stash)
  • Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge - Z3017
  • Sequins Assortment silver - Z2013

I love CTMH's how to books! They are fun and have a ton of ideas you can find lots of inspiration in them. they are Awesome when you need an idea fast. All three Cards I created only took me a little over an hour from start to finish (and that includes colouring time).

Here is what they inspired me to create:

I actually used Make It From Your Heart Volume 2 for all 3 of my Cards.

This simple card is inspired by project number 23 in the book (page 44). I coloured the heart from the M1049 stamp set using my Shin Han markers. I use the heart embossing folder and added some glitter to the hearts, and some shimmer tape to embellish.

This cards inspiration came from project 21 (page 43). very simple card. sentiment from D1584 Big Hug.

My Last Card was inspired by project 24 (pg44). I coloured the image, A1157 - Quick Cards-Island Greetings,  using my Shin Hans Again (there is a close up below).

Your next stop on the Cross Canada Hop is Kristine's Blog.

Well this month I had very good intentions . . . but I ordered the wrong paper pack. oops ;)

Well as luck would have it I had previously ordered the Brushed Workshop on the Go!!!

(which of course I had to adjust to fit my pictures LOL! Those who know me, know I have problems following directions. especially in kits! I love to be creative and as my customers know I am a strong believer in artistic expression!) The workshops on the go are a great deal you get paper, embellishments, a exclusive stamp set and detailed instructions completewith cutting guides and full coloured pictures.

so now I have a beautiful layout of my baby girl! I also had enough paper left over to create another double page layout.

so without further ado . . .
Here is what I created :

I really like how this page turned out and I have to give my hubby, Mike, credit for the idea of using copies of the picture to create this fun effect.

This page is simple but I love the blocking effect, it makes the picture really pop!

I am loving the font on my Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge (Z3017), Nice and simple.

The metal Flowers that come in the Brushed Assortment package (Z3013) plus the Clear assorted sparkles (Z1752), add some Bling to complete my layout.

I hope you like what I created.
Here is a list of the Supplies I used for my creations.

Brushed paper pack - X7190b
Brushed Assortment - Z3013
or
Brushed Workshop on the Go - G1087
Sparkles, clear assortment - Z1752
3-D foam tape (Z1151)

Happy New Year!! Great Tip - Works Great!!

Happy New Year!!
Another year is Here! I am going to try and blog more regularly, our monthy team blog hop has helped in this area so now its up to me to build on it. So here is my first real post of the year. (the Blog hop last week was scheduled so all the work as done in December)

A sister Close to my Heart consultant Terry Ann posted an awesome tip she found on Follow the Paper Trail.

It really caught my eye "No Plug Glue Topper for paper crafting!!"

How many times have we had to stop working on a project to unplug a bottle of glue so that we can use it?

First I have to say my 10 yr old son and husband thought I was totally nuts. Hubby said "umm why are we buying baby bottle nipples the Girl has never taken a bottle?"

I tried it and I LOVE!!! it works really well. I now have these no plug toppers on my Liquid Glass, a quick dry adhesive, and a 3-in-1 glue it works on ALL of them.

these 3 glues all have different thickness but as you can see it works for all of them.

I'm sure it won't be long before I have more of these wonderful toppers!

Thanks Terry Ann for sharing (you can check out her blog here)

Thanks for stopping by,
luv and Inky Hugs,
Heather
